As Rugby World Cup holders, England had a mountain to climb to hold onto their crown. We needed to reinvigorate rugby fans and encourage them to tune in to ITV’s exclusive coverage.
Our campaign captured the excitement of rugby as the ultimate team game. By taking fans (virtually) on to the pitch and letting them interact with genuine rugby players, we achieved interaction rates of up to 75%.
The idea came from Kate Pozzi and Claire Thompson, and video directing and most editting was Dave McNulty.
