So I’ve cleverly called this project pipe dream. It was an after thought I’ll be honest. But it’s fit for purpose.
The idea of this was to be a microsite in one long page. And you can travel up and down the pipes in a non-linear fashion or sequentially section to section. The original idea and art direction was to be like an info-graphics flow chart. however due to the audience and creative guidelines that included the need to use clouds… a more surreal fantasy style seemed more appropriate. My references ranged from Studio Gibli animations like Howls Moving Castle to Jack in the Beanstalk and Roman gods living in the clouds to Super Mario.
As this site developed it allowed me to explore numerous possibilities and design styles… one i particular enjoyed was 3D. I had chance to get stuck into 3D again after many years away from it. Don’t get me wrong. This isn’t a 3D modelling fest. It just seemed right to get the perspective right on 5 pipes coming forward. 5 versions of the same pipe but each had to be on a different angle.
