Studio Ghibli to make a video game
In my search for lovely interactive motion work, I was excited to read that Studio Ghibli is working with the people that made the nintendo DS classic, Professor Layton. A company called Level 5. The result will be a game for the Nintendo DS and Playstation 3 called Ninokuni (meaning Another World)
It’s great to see a big animation studios collaborating with game developers to get an amazing looking end product (hopefully), rather than trying to do it all themselves.
Based on the snippets in this trailer it will look gorgeous. I guess the idea is that you should feel like you are a playing a studio Ghibli film… Hopefully it will play well too. These high profile collaborations and cross overs tend to go wrong in one way or another sadly.
