Blocks + Projection mapping = Interactive Toys

PPP introduces a new way to play with toy blocks. Various images would be projected to the toy blocks depending on how you stack and place them by using image recognition and projection mapping.

Video Encoding for iPad using Adobe Media EncoderSeems to be a bit of a struggle getting the facts on how to encode a video correctly for the iPad using Adobe Media Encoder, especially as there is no Preset. So after a bit of experimenting and research i thought i'd share what i know. As well as a custom Preset file i made that might be useful.

Great work – Canon Pixma Sound Sculptures

In September 2010 Dentsu London launched this project in collaboration with biochemist/photographer, Linden Gledhill for Canon’s PIXMA colour printer range. It feels a little like what Sony might have done next after there experiments with colour. "The project features surreal ‘sound sculptures’ made of dancing droplets of paint captured in extreme detail as they react to sound waves."

Using Kinect… without an Xbox

The future of this looks very promising, and full of potential. It certainly seems more promising than the Wii remote hacking projects that went around when that first came about. By then i am thinking in terms of practical uses, for things like interactive installations etc. READ ON

3D Playtime #3

Shattering things So by this point i'm really enjoying playing around with Cinema 4D... there is so much stuff in that software and it's really user friendly. So the Greyscale Gorilla tutorial now is http://greyscalegorilla.com/blog/2009/12/shatter-and-destruction/ It involves a free third party plugin called destruction, and cinema 4D's mograph 2 features. Rock n Roll!
